Innovation Series
Instilling design mindset and strategy in product development
Product Innovation Masterclass

Design mindset, built into product development
The Innovation Series is a seven-module programme I designed and lead for the product organisation of a global B2B software business, commissioned by its Chief Innovation Officer. The first cohort of product managers and product owners starts in December.
With more than 25 products and the hype around AI, it is easy to chase quantity over quality. As Head of Design I used the initiative to put design mindset and strategy at the centre of product development, and to build a repeatable quality-assessment practice.
Product managers, product owners and designers share one process and one language to decide which use cases deserve a place in the top ten of the roadmap.
Everything is built, ready to run
I prepared the whole programme: content for seven modules, a video lesson for each, decks, workbook templates and ready-to-use prompts that draft and challenge while the team keeps the judgement. Every week follows the same rhythm: watch, do the task on your own product, post, refine in open office hours.
Templates that make quality visible
Each module ends in a deliverable built on a template. Participants trace every opportunity back to evidence, map where AI earns its place in the value chain and where it should not be used, and judge it as design, not as engineering.
A quality assessment practice
Every concept is scored on value over effort, shown on one page with a user lens and a business lens, and defended in a four-minute live pitch. Each leaves with a verdict, Do, Defer or Don't, and a specific reason.
Internal interest is strong, both in scaling the programme and in making it a quality gate before teams ask for large budgets or put proposals on the roadmap. It is modular and can be adapted to other product organisations.
